what eye make-up style should i do for company dinner dance this friday?

this is the dress that I will be wearing for my company’s dinner dance (late xmas party) on friday.
I dont know whether to go for black eyes (i.e. black eyeliner around top lid and bottom lid and black lashes) or to go for brown eyes (brown eye liner and also dark brown eye shadow on lid for smokey effect)
i’m not that great at make up and cannot be too adventurous in the fear of messing it up – i was meant to be getting my hair and makeup done professionally but they have let me down last minute.
any guidance would be greatly appreciated! thanks
i wanted to have my hair up, but hair dress has let me down, so as i’m crap with hair styles, hair will most probably be down (and boring)..

How are you wearing your hair up or down???
aslight gold shimmer to your cheek bones,
Then with the eyes I say, ensure you first put a light base on up to your eyebrow,
Then a golden brown, ( make sure its blended in well) create a C shape with the darker colour and blend in on the top eyelid, when I say a c shape I mean
When you open your eye and your eyelid creases. that bit there.
put a thin sweap of the darker colour half way across the top crease of the eyelid, and the eyelashes (to do with your eye closed), blend it in with a brush and dont worry this cant go wrong as the brush will blend it in so no messy lines and you have that smokey effect, (smudged is smokey) so it like a c shape of darker colour make sense?
with thin layer of black eyeliner top and bottom, and also black mascara, if you have any a little sparkle eyeliner just to finish it off
